Reinstated! or Why SAG is No Help.

Posted by Hard Sun Production | | Posted On Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 2:20 PM

So I have finally been reinstated into my Diet Mountain Dew commercial!  My agents busted some serious butt and got everything taken care of today around 1pm.  I would like to point out however that it was the ad agency BBDO that finally took care of the problem.
My agents had several phone conversations with the people over at SAG's claim department and they were no help whatsoever.  Which makes me wonder exactly why I pay my union what I do when they don't even work for you when you have issues regarding your contract. I mean, isn't that what they're there for?  Isn't that what all those people we elect to office every year are supposed to be taking care off?

Oh well, let it be a lesson to us all.  Have your agents go directly to the ad agency and bypass SAG altogether if you ever run into a situation like this.  Thanks again to my agents over at Clear Talent Group (www.cleartalentgroup.com) and my fellow actor Darrin Jacques for helping me get all of this squared away.

Happily once again you friendly neighborhood bank robber,

To Outgrade, or Not to Outgrade... That is the question.

Posted by Hard Sun Production | | Posted On Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 1:45 PM

So the brilliant geniuses over at BBDO ad agency have outgraded me from the Diet Mountain Dew spot mistakenly.  How did this happen you ask?  On the day, I had a stunt driver who was listed on the call sheet as GET AWAY DRIVER while I was listed as ROBBER #1.  In the spot they saw two robber, ROBBER #2 and #3 and a get away driver, so they assumed that ROBBER #1 wasn't in the spot any more.  Make sense?

The point is I'm in the spot and they thought I wasn't.  So now me, my agent and SAG are clearing this matter up so I can get paid.  The good news?  The minute cut is still in exsistence and probably airing right now since none of the other guys got outgraded.  So keep an eye out.

I have to thank one of the other actors on set Darrin Jacques for forwarding me the spot in the first place.  If he hadn't done that then I wouldn't have even wondered why I was downgraded.  Thanks Darrin!

Just goes to show you... mistakes can be made.  Stay on top of your career and the projects you work on and don't take other people's words for stuff, not even your agents.  Find out yourself!

Well, today the WGA finally voted to end it's three month strike that they had with the AMPTP! Last Thursday was the last day they picketed the studios and I was proud to make it out to Disney Studios along with my manager Eileen O'Farrell to show our support. Here's some picks!

Diet Mountain Dew Spot

Posted by Hard Sun Production | | Posted On at 1:55 PM

Well I'll be darned... turns out there's a minute cut of the Diet Mountain Dew spot floating around YouTube now and guess what? I'm in this one! Gotta thanks Darrin Jacques, one of my fellow bank robbers in the spot for keeping an eye out, even after we got outgraded. Dean Shaller is also in this one as well. I play the getaway driver at the beginning of the spot and Dean and Darrin are the other two robbers. My agents are investigating now to figure out if this cut is airing or if someone just put it on YouTube. Fingers crossed... and if you see this cut on tv, let me know!

Enjoy ;)
